This Privacy Policy describes how Florida Springs Kayaking (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://floridaspringskayaking.com, book a rental, use our contact form, call us, or opt in to text messages. We offer clear kayak and paddleboard rentals on the Silver River and Rainbow River in Central Florida.

Information we collect

• Booking and contact details. Name, mobile phone number, email address, party size, rental choices, date, start time, and other details you enter when you reserve through our FareHarbor booking page, submit our contact form, or give us by phone.
• SMS / mobile information. Your mobile phone number and a record of your consent to receive text messages, plus keywords you send such as STOP, HELP, or START.
• Payment information. Payments are processed by FareHarbor and its payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on this website.
• Website information. Standard technical data such as browser type, device, and pages viewed, plus any cookies needed for the site or the booking overlay to work.
• Communications. Messages you send us by phone, text, or social media, and notes we keep so we can help with your outing.

SMS / text messaging

When you opt in to receive SMS messages from Florida Springs Kayaking, we collect the following information through our contact form, booking form, or other opt-in:

• Phone number (required for messaging)
• First and last name (used to identify your reservation)
• Email address, when you provide one (for booking communications)
• Any additional information you voluntarily provide on the opt-in or booking form

This information is collected solely to deliver the SMS messages you have consented to receive and to maintain a record of your consent. We retain this information for as long as you remain opted in, plus a reasonable period afterward to respond to support requests or comply with legal record-keeping requirements.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile information, including your phone number and SMS opt-in data, with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We share phone numbers only with service providers that help us deliver SMS and manage reservations (for example, our booking platform and SMS gateway), strictly to provide the service and under contractual confidentiality.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Take reservations, confirm bookings, and get you on the water
• Send transactional texts and other messages you have requested about your rental

We do not use your mobile number to send promotional texts unless you have separately opted in to that program. We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only as needed to run the business, and never by selling guest lists. Categories of service providers that may process information, including phone numbers, solely to deliver our service include:

• FareHarbor, which hosts our booking calendar, checkout, and reservation records
• Payment processors used by FareHarbor to charge your reservation
• SMS delivery providers / messaging gateways that transmit texts you have requested
• Website hosting and security providers

These companies are processors, not buyers of your data. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect guests or staff, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Cookies and the booking overlay

This site uses cookies and similar technologies that are needed for pages to load and for the FareHarbor booking overlay to work. FareHarbor may set its own cookies when you open dates and prices. We do not use advertising pixels on this website.

Data security

We protect user information through the following measures:

• Encryption in transit (TLS / HTTPS for data sent between your device, this website, and our service providers)
• Access controls limiting reservation and contact data to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis
• Secure third-party processors including FareHarbor (booking and payments) and the SMS gateway used to deliver texts, each of which maintains its own industry-standard security practices
• Review of access and data-handling practices as the business grows

No system is perfectly secure. We treat guest information with care, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep information

We keep booking and contact records as long as needed to fulfill the rental, handle follow-up, and meet legal, tax, or dispute-resolution needs. SMS consent records are kept while you remain opted in and for a reasonable period after you opt out so we can honor the opt-out and show that we did.

Your choices and rights

You may reply STOP to end text messages, reply HELP for SMS help, or call (954) 851-4785 to ask what information we hold, request a correction, or ask us to delete information we are not required to keep. If you booked through FareHarbor, some reservation records are also held by that provider.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under state law. Florida residents and others may contact us at the number above to exercise applicable rights.

Children

This website and our SMS program are intended for adults. You must be 18 years of age or older to opt in to text messages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. A parent or guardian books for a family group.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. The current version will always be posted at https://floridaspringskayaking.com/privacy.
